Some old writing, ads and branding from a dusty hard drive…
I developed the tone of voice for these incredible cancer centres called Maggie’s. They are amazing spaces, born from Maggie Jencks’ blueprint and belief that architecture has the power to heal. Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry and Thomas Heatherwick designed some of the centres.
We made notebooks for people in oncology wards to take away with them. The first 12 pages explain what Maggie’s is.
Manifestos, manifestos, manifestos…
These Divine Chocolate print ads were created in a pre-woke era, when (shamefully) even female creatives thought it was OK to sexualise women to advertise chocolate.
Some more ads that fall into the category of ‘you wouldn’t even think about writing this now’.
This is a story about one woman (Henrietta) and her dog (Lily).
Regular dog food was giving Lily itchy skin, so Henrietta started cooking Lily’s food from scratch, using natural ingredients. The transformation in Lily’s health was so positive that Henrietta decided to go into business.
With natural ingredients being the essence of Henrietta’s ethos, I created, with my then partner, Aaron, the brand Lily’s Kitchen – Proper Dog Food. Building the brand from a blank canvas, we created the tone of voice and designed the packaging that features an illustrated Lily walking along a country path surrounded by nature.
It won a D&AD pencil for packaging design. And it’s a hit with dogs and owners too.
At Sunshine, I worked on The Skype Collaboration Project – an online editorial. A place where emerging creative talent could be inspired by stories about people already having a huge impact on culture. I interviewed and wrote features on various creatives. Here are some examples.
