One in three teenage girls is clinically depressed by the time they turn 14, and they’re dropping out of sport more than ever before. Nike wanted to tackle this epidemic by helping young girls see the power sport can have on their mental health and lives.
Nike partnered with Gurls Talk and we elevated their platform by launching a podcast with over 60 episodes, created Instagram content, a Nike x Gurls Talk documentary and Gurls Talk live events in London, Paris, Milan, Berlin, LA and Ghana – bringing girls together to get moving and to talk, listen and share.
We created the Made to Play Fund, which supports female coaches around the world, and given sports bras to 200 global organisations, helping to remove barriers for girls to access sport.
With 500,000 podcast downloads and the number one spot in the Apple health charts, Gurls Talk powered by Nike is building a community where anyone is welcome, nothing is taboo, and where girls can become individually and collectively stronger.
